VW T6 Camper Hire - Terms and Conditions of Hire
*1. Booking and Payment:*
1.1. A non-refundable booking deposit of 50% of the total booking is required to secure your booking. Provisional bookings will be held for 2 days, pending receipt of the deposit. Failure to pay the deposit within this timeframe will result in automatic cancellation of the booking.
1.2. The remaining balance of the hire fee is due no later than 4 weeks prior to the commencement of the hire period. Failure to pay the balance by this date will result in the cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of all monies paid, including the initial deposit.
1.3. All payments must be made via a traceable source (e.g., bank transfer, debit/credit card) by the individual named as the Hirer on the booking agreement. Payments from third parties will not be accepted. Failure to comply with this condition will result in the cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of all monies paid.
*2. Security Deposit:*
2.1. A security deposit of £200 is payable in cash on the day of vehicle collection. This deposit will be held as security against any loss or damage to the vehicle, its fixtures, fittings, and equipment, as well as any breaches of these Terms and Conditions.
2.2. The security deposit will be refunded upon the safe return of the vehicle, subject to a satisfactory inspection confirming no damage and adherence to these Terms and Conditions. The inspection will be completed at the time of vehicle handover.
2.3. The Hirer acknowledges that the security deposit may be retained in part or in full to cover the cost of any damage to the vehicle, its fixtures, fittings, or equipment, howsoever caused (including but not limited to accidental damage, negligence, or misuse).
*3. Fuel:*
3.1. The vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel at the commencement of the hire period.
3.2. The Hirer is responsible for all fuel costs during the hire period and must return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.
3.3. Failure to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel will result in the forfeiture of the entire security deposit to cover the cost of refueling.
*4. Hirer's Driving Licence and Eligibility:*
4.1. It is the sole responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that they and any permitted drivers meet the legal driving licence requirements to operate the vehicle in the United Kingdom. VW T6 Camper Hire will not be held responsible for any failure to meet these requirements.
4.2. At the time of vehicle collection, the Hirer and any permitted drivers must present a valid and original driving licence. Failure to provide the required driving licence information or a valid DVLA share code (where applicable) will result in the cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the entire security deposit.
4.3. To be eligible to hire the vehicle, the Hirer and any permitted drivers must be over the age of 21 and have no more than 6 penalty points on their driving licence in total. VW T6 Camper Hire reserves the right to refuse hire if these conditions are not met, resulting in the loss of the security deposit.
*5. Permitted Use and Restrictions:*
5.1. The vehicle is insured for use within the UK mainland only. Travel to any other country, including the European Union, is strictly prohibited. Any breach of this condition will result in the immediate termination of the hire agreement and forfeiture of the security deposit.
5.2. The Hirer agrees to drive the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all applicable road traffic laws and regulations.
5.3. The vehicle is equipped with a tracking device. Any evidence of dangerous driving, speeding, or other breaches of road traffic laws will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit and may lead to a ban from hiring vehicles from VW T6 Camper Hire in the future.
*6. Day Hire Timings and Late Returns:*
6.1. For day hire bookings, the vehicle collection time is from 07:00 on the day of hire, and the vehicle must be returned no later than 17:00 on the same day.
6.2. Late returns will be subject to a surcharge of £25 per hour.
*7. Damage and Loss:*
7.1. The Hirer is responsible for any loss or damage to the vehicle, its fixtures, fittings, and equipment during the hire period, regardless of fault. The cost of repair or replacement will be deducted from the security deposit. If the cost exceeds the security deposit, the Hirer will be liable for the outstanding balance.
*8. Cancellation by VW T6 Camper Hire :*
8.1. VW T6 Camper Hire reserves the right to cancel the booking at any time for reasons including but not limited to vehicle unavailability due to unforeseen circumstances or the Hirer's failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions. In the event of cancellation by VW T6 Camper Hire (excluding cancellations due to the Hirer's breach), a full refund of all monies paid will be provided.
*8. Permitted Use and Restrictions:*
8.1. The vehicle is insured for use within the UK mainland only. Travel to any other country, including the European Union, is strictly prohibited. Any breach of this condition will result in the immediate termination of the hire agreement and forfeiture of the security deposit.
8.2. The Hirer agrees to drive the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all applicable road traffic laws and regulations.
8.3. *UK Speed Limits:* The Hirer acknowledges and agrees to adhere to the specific speed limits applicable to this vehicle type in the UK, which are *60 mph on dual carriageways and 50 mph on single carriageway roads*, unless otherwise signposted. If a speed of 71mph is recoreded at any point during the hire, this will result in total loss of deposit.
8.4. *Vehicle Tracking and Speed Monitoring:* The vehicle is equipped with a tracking device that monitors its location and speed. Any recorded instances of exceeding the stated speed limits will result in the forfeiture of part or all of the security deposit, at the discretion of VW T6 Camper Hire, depending on the severity and frequency of the breaches.
8.5. Any evidence of dangerous driving or other breaches of road traffic laws will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit and may lead to a ban from hiring vehicles from VW T6 Camper Hire in the future.
*10. Entire Agreement:*
10.1. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Hirer and VW T6 Camper Hire and supersede all prior discussions, agreements, or understandings.
